Youth development
Youth programmes conducted in the target area to organise them for development. Many youth in the villages are unemployed due to lack of quality education, training and employment opportunities. Therefore to help these young people leadership development trainings, career guidance, counseling and social awareness programmes are conducted.
SCAN-india is in the process of initiating a vocational training centre to provide job-oriented skill training for the youth. The training center will focus on the traditional trades such as carpentry, woodcarving, tailoring, leaf-plate making, silk reeling and other handicrafts. Other trades such as electrician, automobile repair, computer service and radio repair are also planned to be included in this center.
